The second installment in the series which my friend named “pretty lady, nice place, wrong animal”, and which consists of images that reach me in that state between waking and dreaming. This one appeared fully composed - a young woman dressed for the carnival or some variety show, seated at a wrought-iron table for one, in the shade of a palm tree, and almost merging with the dark vegetation around her, all set off starkly against that very sunny background of some fantastical city, with two representatives of Nature greeting her in the left half of the painting. Those were butterflies in the vision, but I took the liberty to turn them into flamingos.
This is the first bigger oil painting I finished, as I’m moving away from acrylics nowadays.
