Rhino Beetle

Rhino beetles seem to be making a comeback in Germany, which I’m very happy about. Some years back, a friend gave me one he had found dead in his yard, and I took the opportunity to try and paint it as large as possible. The final version of the painting actually contains a few more surrealistic elements, but someone bought it before I took proper photos. Alas, it put the idea of insanely huge insects into my head, which I’m still drawing from.
