While the greats of that era were undeniably technical masters, their subject matter was just as undeniably silly, and whenever that happens, I feel like pointing it out. Acknowledge that your stuff is ridiculous, guys, go all in! Have that warrior woman in the least effective armor ride a snail, and give her painted toenails! That's my take, at least :)
